Care Instructions

1. Washing:

  • Always hand wash your chopping board with warm, soapy water immediately after use.
  • Never soak the board or place it in the dishwasher, as prolonged exposure to water can cause the wood to warp, crack, or split.

2. Drying:

  • After washing, dry the board thoroughly with a clean towel.
  • Ensure the board is completely dry before storing it, preferably by standing it upright or leaning it on its side to allow airflow.

3. Oiling:

  • Apply food-safe mineral oil and beeswax regularly to maintain the wood’s moisture and prevent it from drying out. This should be done once a month or when the board begins to look dry.
  • To oil the board, spread a generous amount of the oil across the surface and let it soak in for a few hours or overnight. Wipe off any excess oil with a clean, dry cloth.

4. Storing:

  • Store your chopping board in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can cause the wood to crack.
  • Do not stack heavy objects on top of the board, which can lead to bending or warping.

5. Avoiding Damage:

  • Refrain from using your chopping board for cutting extremely hard items, such as bones or frozen food, as these can damage the surface.
  • Prolonged contact with acidic substances like lemon juice or vinegar may dull the finish or stain the wood. Clean the board immediately after exposure to these substances.
